Privacy notice for video tests
A business asked you to watch its video and react on camera. This page explains what is recorded, who gets it, and how to delete it.
Draft — review before publishing. Items marked [CONFIRM: …] need an answer from the company before this page goes live.

In short: your camera is used only while the video plays, never your microphone. AI in your own browser notes visible movements, like smiling, and whether you're facing the screen. The business that invited you gets those notes, and a recording of your face if the test asked for one and it's allowed where you are. You can delete your response at any time with the link on the last screen.
Who is responsible
The business named on the test decides to run it and what to do with the results. It is responsible for your response (the “controller”). SeeMee Inc. runs SeeMee and handles your response only on the business's behalf and to keep the service working and safe (the “processor”). [CONFIRM: controller and processor roles, and the DPA every business accepts, confirmed by counsel]
What stays on your device
The picture from your camera is analysed in your browser, a few times a second, by an AI model that runs on your device. The camera picture itself is never sent to SeeMee, except as the reaction video described below. The microphone is never used.
What SeeMee receives
- Moment-by-moment notes. One entry per half-second of the video: whether it was playing, whether one face was in view and facing the screen, which visible movements showed (smiling, raised brows, open mouth, furrowed brows, pressed lips, puckered lips, wrinkled nose), whether more than one face was in view, and whether the light was poor. Why: it's the result the business asked for. Seen by: the business.
- A reaction video. A recording of your face while the video played, without sound, only if the test records one and it's allowed where you are. Why: so the business can see your reaction next to its video. Seen by: the business.
- Where you stopped. Only if you stopped before the end. Why: it shows the business where its video lost people. Seen by: the business.
- Your details, from a personal link. Your email address, first name and the columns the business chose from its customer list. Why: the business gave them to us to make your link. Seen by: the business, next to your response only if the test shows names.
- Device and location. Your device type (phone, tablet or computer) and the country and region of your connection. Why: to apply the rules for where you are, such as whether recording is allowed. Seen by: the business, the device type only.
- A repeat check. A scrambled code made from a random number your browser keeps for this test, and a scrambled form of your IP address. Why: to flag possible repeat responses and limit abuse. Seen by: the business, only as a “possible repeat” flag.
The AI notes describe what a face visibly did. They can't tell how you feel, and nobody should read them as your emotions.
Named or numbered
The first screen of every test says whether the business sees your response with your name and email, or without your name. If you came through a link the business shared publicly, you are only ever numbered (“Viewer 12”). SeeMee never asks who you are.
Rewards and email
If the test offers a reward, your code is shown on the last screen. If you came through a personal link, we also send you one email with your code and the link to delete your response, through our email provider. We don't send anything else.
How long it's kept
- Reaction videos: deleted automatically 90 days after you take part.
- The timeline and the rest of your response: for as long as the business keeps the test.
- If you stop before the end: the recording is thrown away on your device and never sent.
- The scrambled form of your IP address: about two hours.
[CONFIRM: retention periods confirmed by counsel and published in the DPA]
Deleting your response
The last screen of the test, and the email if you got one, has a link that deletes your response, its timeline and its recording from SeeMee and from the business's results. It works for as long as the response exists. If the business downloaded its results before you deleted yours, ask the business to delete its copy too.
What SeeMee never does
- Sell your response or use it for advertising.
- Use it to train AI models without asking you separately.
- Target you, or anyone, by their reactions.
Service providers
SeeMee runs on Cloudflare (hosting, video streaming and the check that you're a person), Supabase (database and storage) and Resend (the one email). They handle your response only to provide those services. [CONFIRM: sub-processor list and transfer basis]
Your rights and questions
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete your data, and to complain to a data protection authority. For anything about the business's use of your response, contact the business. For anything about SeeMee: Contact us.
